Fraud is an intentional deception made for personal gain. Fraud can also damage another individual. Is it lawful to involve fraud to our awesome writing hobby?

Definition of Fraud

Fraud is about deceit, trickery, sharp practice, or breach of confidence, perpetrated for profit or to gain some unfair or dishonest advantage. And it is a crime and also a civil law violation.

There are two motives of Fraud if applied in our writing:

  • An intentional deception made for personal gain

  • To damage another individual

The Effects of Fraud

Recently, I had an interesting conversation with a friend (his name is withheld) who happened also a contributor of the website I am writing with. However, he had been kicked out from the site. Also he had been constrained from accessing to his Google AdSense Account.

He said, ”I wrote at least couple of hundred original articles and published on that site. My monthly income on that site was impressive aside from my Google AdSense monthly earnings. But all were went astray. The site kicked me out. And I was constrained from accessing my Google AdSense Account.”

Causes of Eviction

When I asked him, why the site evicted him and why he had been deprived from accessing his Google AdSense Account? He did not answer them directly instead, he had left me some rewarding advices:

  • To invite friends, family and relatives to visit and read your awesome articles is okay but never tell them or suggest them to click ads found on your pages.

  • Just let them click the ads according to their will.

  • Do not use pay- per-click advertisements for your articles – they are also considered as fraud.

  • Never click ads found on your own articles pages.

  • Of course, you can click some ads from other pages though you must see to it that you liked them and interested with those ads.

Fraud Damages Another Individual

Last March 23, 2011, I received a message from Google AdSense Crawler Team said, “AdSense crawlers has blocked this URL link Scienceray." It was the link of one of my most viewed article ever published on that site. It generated the highest content earnings.

Yes. I had been a victim of fraud added that particular period my Gmail account was hacked, the website was blocked in Saudi Arabia for eight days, I received threats from my stalker and someone has plagiarized one of my works!

Reason Why Google AdSense Blocked My Page for Ads

According to Google AdSense Crawlers Team - the reason why my article page was blocked was that - they found someone was using an automated tool (bot or robot) that continuosly clicking the ads found on that article page. They further advised me that I would have to resolve the problem as soon as possible. Or ask the admin of that site to solve the problem. Otherwise, the page will be permanently blocked for ads.

What I did, immediately I brought the issue to Google Help Center and requested them to help me explain to Google AdSense Crawlers Team that I have no control of the site and the person who started the problem. I further requested them that since they monitored and recorded the tool and the ISP of the said person - they are in control to stop the person.

Luckily, after that communication with those people at the Google Help Center and after three days, Google AdSense Crawlers Team lifted the obstruction and sent back ads to my article page til now.

To Make It Simple

Why you will apply Fraud with your writing? “to earn more money” (first motive/purpose why you get involve with this method) not realizing that by applying that method it can cause you to be banned from the site you are writing with.

(Second motive/purpose why you apply Fraud) your intention is to damage or destroy other individual – like what happened to me on March 23, 2011. AdSense crawlers stopped sending ads to one of my articles because they spotted that someone has used an automation tool or robot clicking on the ads found on that page.

Applying fraud with your writing is not beneficial and healthy habit. It will destroy your credibility and reputation as a writer!
