Mark is right. Twitter can boost traffic.
It's just ok, in the first place you're just starting establishing network of friends and followers at Twitter.
Once you gained many followers - you will be surprised how Twitter works for you.

Thanks for that. I use twitter and facebook, but when I view my stats, it doesn't tell me where my viewing traffic is coming from?

At wikinut we cannot see the referring sites at other sites they used referring sites and traffic geo distribution.
But what is important - we have gained views from those tools we chose.
