Life is the quantum realization of equivalents
a closed Pavlovian universe of thought
What can youth know of pain
the slow ember burn of time
a life spent with strangers and instant goodbyes

Surcease

Life is the quantum realization of equivalents
a closed Pavlovian universe of thought
What can youth know of pain
the slow ember burn of time
a life spent with strangers and instant goodbyes
named death a hollow wounding
whose only surcease itself is the name

Preying for apples
sent home with pockets empty
at one end the youth’s hunger cries
At the other she celebrates
that her lust for apples remains alive
while a single bite taken
would feed her need in a munch and crunch

Rather would she listen to her years
catalog separate lusts unanswered
name them sin and pursue them
list them done and one by one
know they are no such thing
man named a hollow wounding
whose only surcease itself is the name
