According to Twitter Counter - the top twitter user is measured through its followers count not by following and tweeting.
The Top 10 Personalities Most Followed on Twitter
The twitter top 10 is ranked by followers count not by following and tweeting - they are:
- Lady Gaga - her followers has reached so far to 9,170,273. She is following at least 144,013 and had tweeted 657 tweets.
- Justin Bieber - his followers has reached to 8,543,556. He is following 110,853 and tweeted at least 8,587 tweets.
- Britney Spears - her followers are 7,307,859. She is following 416,204 and has tweeted at least 676 tweets.
- Barack Obama - the 44th President of the United States. His followers has reached so far to 7,243,541. He is following at least 700,508 and has tweeted at least 1,305 tweets.
- Kim Kardashian - a business woman and fashion designer. Her followers has reached to 6,993,650. She is following 127 only but has tweeted 7,133 tweets so far.
- Ashton Kutcher - his followers are 6,516,409. He is following 624 and has tweeted at least 6,563 tweets.
- Katy Perry - her followers has reached to 6,505,552. She is only following 69 and has tweeted 2,752 tweets.
- Ellen DeGeneres - she is a comedian, talk show host and ice road trucker. Her followers are 6,323,739. She is following at least 48,768 and has tweeted 4,145 tweets.
- Taylorswift13 - she has followers of about 5,822,849. She is following 54 so far and has tweeted at least 899 tweets.
- Oprah Winfrey - her motto "Live Your Best Life". Her followers are 5,487,975. She is following 31 only and has tweeted 288 tweets so far.

Why am I not surprised? I don't get twitter. I use it simply to promote my articles on wikinut but other than I have not ever tweeted. At least not intentionally.

Well, twitter is very useful not only for promoting our articles but also - a tool to look for hot ideas, long lost friends aside from socializing. Thanks.
