Woman As Wing

Her dirt encrusted feet
plant explosions of dust rise
charcoal moons of her eyes
a forenoon of madness
blessed vibe retreat
medicine medicine her art
vain of consciousness
this smoldering sweat
beyond such body language
yet in its unbecoming
a primal understatement
lust in the bond to self
her dirt encrusted feet

The rhythm of her danse
a stone blood marker
flesh and earth
eloping and divining
origin primordial seed
sown fertility
knows no strangers
of mute invitation
is she maiden lost
and future bound
silent sound of death
horrendous wail universe
the rhythm of her danse

She hides behind eyes
what others might perceive
as illusion does she present
as spirit and they watch
ever attentive from time caves
resolve not to know her
admonish the children
look but do not touch
her open flame disembodied
from above alive and outside
she sees this delirious thing herself
certain knowledge of dervish
she hides behind eyes

So she leaves flying
accepts the role of stranger
knows she will never find herself
celebrates her abandonment
the spinning orb of her body
sorceress poetess diviner
a space yet errant of earth
does she occupy the more
already a crone she laughs
through beautiful perfect white teeth
that men must lust for her flesh
as some tender-meat of time
so she leaves flying
