~sifting through dust and snow~stealing images from others’ clothes~moths and mice, spiders throughout~crawling through the web brain~toss a stone, make a bet~who were these people~children of earth~whose future you will soon become~

~Icelander Rune~

The snow has come to visit
Ice fingers pray to the sky
Mountains sulk in white cloak
Ice daggers hang from the eaves
Starving poets crave the muse
gnaw at the garments of Gods
curse life and fear death
beg reason from children’s faces
make snow angels in the dust
Eyes steal from the attic
steel hinges square down door
winter stuff in a chest
pneumonia, dead people’s clothes
