~Tooth ‘n Gum~

It’s difficult to be angry when you have a toothache. It is difficult not to be angry when you have a toothache. The meanest man I ever knew never had a toothache, never brushed them either until, after thirty years, his wife refused to go out with him in public unless he brushed the fur off his teeth. He needed a bank loan to buy some cows and, as wife and co-maker, she had to be with him to secure the loan. Brushing didn’t help much so he applied Ajax to a wet washrag and scrubbed them clean as best he could. Some few years later his teeth began to loosen. One by one, he reached in and pulled them out like so many radishes from his garden. There were still eight or ten left when cancer stripped him clean. He referred to his gums as gooms, proud in his gap-toothed way, a complicated simple and fading away.

There is a tribe somewhere, that I once heard of, that
never washes, but they never smell either
because their pores are all blocked up by dirt.
It is estimated that if none of us washed
for six months we would reach the same
happy condition.
Thanks for another really "grabbing" article.

In a weird sort of way this reminds me of my grandpa but, he was a sweet heart of a man. He could eat a ear of corn like it was no ones business though. Great read, as always. Thank you for sharing.:)
