“You know what your problem is, it's that you haven't seen enough movies - all of life's riddles are answered in the movies.” - Steve Martin

Hi, I'm a lover of all things to do with movies, you could call me a movie geek as for me there is nothing better than sitting down and watching a handful of top movies. They don't have to be new movies either as older movies are often better than modern mainstream cinema. My love of movies goes as far as writing movie reviews which can be found on my own website The Movie Scene.

For all it's faults, and there are plenty of them, I have always really enjoyed Clint Eastwood's "Heartbreak Ridge" with it's almost parody styling of military training and less than subtle comedy. But it's not what you would call classic Clint Eastwood either from an acting point of ...
Through out his career Richard Gere has been fortunate enough to star opposite some of Hollywood's most attractive women such as Julia Roberts, Diane Lane, Jennifer Lopez, Winona Ryder, Helen Hunt, Farrah Fawcett, Laura Dern and Debra Winger to name but a few. One of the most attracti...

To give "The Preacher's Wife" some credit it was good but it didn't match up to "The Bishop's Wife" the 1947 movie which it was a remake of. You see "The Bishop's Wife" is entertaining, amusing and being what you would call a Christmas movie has that touch of magic which makes you fee...

I was never a fan of Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Christmas", I watched it a couple of times and between the stop motion animation, the weird storyline and the rhyming songs it just didn't do it for me, despite being very popular. Ignored for years I recently revisited "The Nigh...
In a way calling this "How to Write a Movie Review" is a bit wrong because there really is no right or wrong way to write a movie review. There are some major things you should do and some major things you should never do, give away any twists being one of them. But there are many dif...
It's a shame that when asked about Robert De Niro and Dustin Hoffman movies most people only know of the amusing "Meet the Fockers" rather than the wickedly funny political satire "Wag the Dog". Released in 1997 and telling the amusing story of political spin doctors, Hollywood produc...
When you think of acting families there have been quite a few such as the Barrymore's, Sheen's and Huston's. One well known acting family is the Baldwin brothers Alec, Daniel, William and Stephen all of whom have acted on the big screen as well as the small screen and to be honest all...
At one time you could guarantee at least one new Will Smith movie each year, but recently it has been a bit quiet from the man who gave us the "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air". The good news for all Will Smith fans is that whilst he's been busy acting as producer on "The Karate Kid" he hasn'...
