Being born at the end of WWII I learned of the atrocities committed by both the ‘Allies’ and the ‘Enemy’. There is no justice in war; it is the innocents who suffer the most on all sides. Sixty years on and there are still wars, killings, atrocities, torture, lies, corruption, injustice

Injustice is not exclusive to war either. In civil society there are numerous cases of abuses of power, wrong convictions, corruption by public servants and corporate fraud. The pen is mightier than the sword it is said and that is why I write about such issues.

I stand against war, poverty, exploitation and racism. I am for human rights, abolition of the death penalty, equal opportunities, women’s rights and the right of every human to live with dignity and in happiness.
This is the standing of Dave Knight in our community - the further right, the more of a Wikinut they are!

The new millennium saw the world destabilized and life made more dangerous for everyone. Corrupt politicians like George Bush,Tony Blair and Neo-Cons like them have deliberately made the poor poorer. Along with their corporate masters they allowed the arms industry to dominate policy...
George W Bush recently published his memoir Decision Points. In it he admitted he authorised waterboarding and maintains that it was necessary to save American and British lives. Waterboarding is torture and therefore illegal and in this article I discuss the evidence of experts and e...
The London bombings, often referred to as 7/7, were allegedly carried out by Al Qaeda inspired suicide bombers. But there are more questions than answers as reported by PressTV. An independent Coroner's Inquest into the bombings is now under-way and is being heard by The Right Honou...
I find it incredible that there are, despite all the evidence, still people who believe the Taser gun to be non-lethal. The United Nations has declared it an instrument of torture. Amnesty International has been warning about their use for years.
More and more in Great Britain we read of police failures. Is it is incompetence, leadership or the culture? I suggest it is all three. Take the Raoul Moat case that has dominated British news media for almost two weeks. Raoul Moat was clearly mentally ill. No sane person would embark...
The shorelines are littered with thousands of oil-blackened dead fish and birds. A thick carpet of foul-smelling sludge covers acres of shore. The ruptured deep sea oil well continues to gush thousands of barrels of this deadly pollutant every hour. The BP oil catastrophe is much wors...
The shorelines are littered with thousands of oil-blackened dead fish and birds. A thick carpet of foul-smelling sludge covers acres of beaches and marshland. The ruptured deep sea oil well continues to gush thousands of barrels of this deadly pollutant every hour – largely unabated...
A six-vessel flotilla, sponsored by an Islamic charity based in Turkey and had been carrying around 600 activists from a variety of nations when it was attacked by Zionist pirates.
Every year thousands of poor women from all over the Globe leave the country of their birth to seek work in a foreign land. Agencies in their home country often promise well-paid jobs as domestic workers and waitresses.
The problems reforming socialist leaders have when trying to reverse the tyranny of former capitalist rulers is probably underestimated by both the leaders themselves and the public who put them in power. The president of Brazil is no exception but he has made progress.
The corruption and racism within Arpaio’s Maricopa County Justice system has resulted in unacceptable behaviour towards minority’s and the poor. People of Mexican origin or who look Mexican are singled out for abuse in particular.
The recent and seemingly never-ending revelations of child abuse by paedophile priests, Vatican cover-ups and papal involvement is merely a continuance of religious crimes centuries old. There is a link between the present day abuse of children and the Church's absolute belief in its ...
I am totally opposed to the death penalty in all circumstances. It hasn't always been that way, I once thought that the death penalty should be applied selectively. Chemical Ali would have been one such exception. He was, without doubt a monster. A cold-blooded killer of innocent men,...
When our plans are disrupted by something outside our control it is human nature to look for someone to blame. With industrial action, partly guided by a largely right-wing press, we tend to blame the unions. Unions do not decide to strike, members do. In the United Kingdom the decisi...
Ask most people to define torture and I am sure most would take a shot at it. But the mental picture conjured up in your audience's mind will probably differ from person to person. Honest people know what torture is and make no excuses for the individuals or regimes that perpetrate it...
The polls suggest an indecisive result and voters have a unique opportunity. Party politics has shown it cares little for what people really want so vote the best people in not a party.
