This is a funny story-poem for the children. It is about an elephant who made friendship with a frog.

"Friendship is god's greatest and sweetest gift".

Friends for Ever

There was a baby elephant
Who played in grass infested with naughty ants.

In the tender tip of his rough trunk
He was bitten by a hungry ant.

It bore like a drill that he growled like hell.
He ran amok to kill the ant in the trunk
He rubbed it to trees, waved in the air
Brushed in the sand but the ant was there.

Then, he ran to a pond and rolled in water.
Puffed and flushed, hushed in the slush.
But the ant left not his tender flesh.

A frog in the pond felt his grief,
Asked him to be still for a brief,
And then, jumped on his trunk.
He found the ant gnawing and stuck
To the tip and enjoying his feast.
The frog picked it with a short lick
And gulped it down his wanting throat.

And the frog licked and soothed him well.
The pain was gone, after a short while.

The elephant thanked the frog,
And took him along wherever he went.
They became friends forever,
They helped each other ever after.
