I really enjoyed my visit of St Mary's Church. It helped me know more history about the old town of Rye. I also felt the peace of Christian religion fulfilled in the church.
A history of August, in days long gone farms rejoiced in their month of harvest, a time for activity and song when the last load was brought home covered in boughs. The last handful of corn cut from the field is handed to a maiden who is a harvest queen dressed in beautiful clothes.
It was a warm day as I stood under a warm sun watching pastures of green meadows rise to a horizon drawing a line under a deep blue sky.
